The ReLast collection represents Candiani Denim’s first step into developing fabric for sustainable stretch jeans. To design these fabrics, we applied the same way of thinking about recycling and regeneration used for our ReGen products and moved it to stretch yarns.

Stretch denim for sustainable jeans comes from recycled textile products and contains ROICA™ EF

In the wake of ReGen's success, we decided to apply our ideas about recycled textile products to stretch yarns. Our ReLast stretch denim to create sustainable jeans contain a version of the ROICA Eco-Smart™ family (ROICA™ EF) fiber customized by Asahi Kasei for Candiani Denim. ROICA™ EF is a recycled fiber made using in-house waste and the world-first elastane certified by Global Recycle Standard (GRS), the most important international certification for textile products made with recycled materials and sustainable processes.

Candiani Denim’s innovative stretch fabric has a low environmental footprint

The ReLast project was Candiani Denim’s first step into creating an innovative stretch fabric with a low environmental footprint without affecting quality. ReLast products are not only sustainable but also have higher-than-average stretch performance and ensure their snug fit will not lose its shape over time.

Candiani Denim’s ReLast collection is composed of three different fabrics: comfort, stretch, and super stretch, according to their level of elasticity. They all offer incredible recovery and supreme performance, are made from 100% organic cotton, and are sized with the Kitotex® technology patented by Candiani Denim.

Our ReLast collection uses the Kitotex® technology

Candiani Denim obtained the exclusive license for the Kitotex® technology in denim production. This technology drastically reduces the amount of water, energy, and chemicals used in manufacturing.

The Kitotex® technology is based on using Chitosan, a biodegradable polymer earned from mushrooms, and saves 30% energy, 50% water, and 70% chemicals in the dyeing process. At the end of the production process, Chitosan can also help purify the discharged water.
