Any Given Day is the project through which Rachele Polisano graduated in Fashion Design at the School of Design – Politecnico di Milano. Rachele utilized our denim to bring her ideas to life. Denim became the primary fabric of the collection due to its versatility, allowing it to be reinterpreted in various ways.

Denim is the central fabric of the collection

The concept of Any Given Day involves taking basic garments that we wear every day and transforming them into something new and imaginative. This process combines elements from jeans, t-shirts, tailored suits, shirts, and trench coats to create a vision that transcends mere functionality and opens up new horizons.

The collection is anchored by denim that has been creatively manipulated using a manual printing technique known as cyanotype. This technique harnesses sunlight to produce captivating trompe-l'œil illusory effects. The fabric is carefully treated with potassium ferrocyanide and ammonium ferric citrate and left to dry before light exposure. Objects intended to be immortalized on the fabric are strategically placed on top, allowing the solvents to react to UV rays and produce a striking blueprint.

The collection comprises various pieces of clothing. The suit was created with a series of stitches spaced one centimeter apart to achieve a pinstriped effect. The thread used for the suit is reminiscent of the thread traditionally used in jeans packaging.

The other garments were developed by transforming the characteristics of the original garment, which was jeans. These characteristics are reflected in the trench coat’s cape and the bomber jacket’s cuts. Additionally, the dress highlights a shirt collar and features asymmetrical buttoning.

“Collaborating with a company that values social responsibility and respect for the planet has made my thesis project more valuable”

Rachele Polisano commented, “Working with Candiani Denim has been a real honor. It has allowed me to explore the world of denim in-depth, experimenting with new processing techniques using various weights and colors of this fabric. Collaborating with a company that values social responsibility and respect for the planet has made my thesis project even more valuable. It is not just a creative work, but also a declaration of intent for a more sustainable future in fashion.”
